Deck The Halls

Hello peeps, Squirrel here on this chilly Saturday morning.

There are only two more posts to come from me before I step down from the Design Team at Christmas.  I've been working with this fabulous team for several years now and it has been a really hard decision to make, but I will still be around on the Facebook pages, you don't get away that lightly!

Dragon Water Fun

Hello peeps, Squirrel here on this wonderfully wet Saturday!  Rain, at last, we've had the occasional brief shower this week, and some hailstones, but now we have a good, old-fashioned, wet to the bone, downpour.  I can almost hear the garden sighing with relief!

This little chap is totally prepared

Dragon New Year

Hello everyone, Squirrel popping by today.  Well, despite my best intentions, this year is a continuation of last year......when you are convinced your pal's birthday is February but it isn't.  Sigh.

There actually wasn't any need for me to sign the inside, she saw "that word" and just knew!

Everything (except papers) is Whimsy today

Oopsie!...

Hello everyone,

It's Sue here today.

I'm wishing you all a super day, even if the days are a little odd right now!

I have a cute card to show you today, from a Whimsy Stamps April New Release stamp set that is just so fabulous it just keeps selling out!

This was such a fun card to make.

I first blended blue ink (Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide) over a piece of smooth card and then stamped the brilliant
onto it and heat embossed it in white.

I then trimmed the background into a 13cm square and set it aside.

Next I stamped one of the hippo's and the bucket & spade onto a piece of white card and coloured them with Copics
Hippo - T5, T3, T1, R11, BG0000, BG10
Reds - R59, R46, R27, R14
Blue/Greens - BG09, BG49, BG45, BG32
Sand - E37, E35, E33, E31

Then I cut the images out and put them to one side.

I created a 10cm by 13cm rectangle of white card and ice cut a square aperture  in the top half of it as shown

I fixed the rectangle to the illusions background with foam tape and stamped the oopsie sentiment in black onto the bottom right hand corner.

Finally I fixed the cheeky hippo and the bucket and spade to the card design with foam tape as shown.

Best Friends...

Happy Friends!

Sue here, I hope you are all managing to stay safe in these unsettled and rather worrying times!

I'm here today with a colourful creation made with a fab image from Whimsy Stamps
This card was great fun to make because I used my favourite colouring medium - pencils!... and made an inky background!

I stamped this super image from Voo Doo Clear Stamp set
onto Bockingford Watercolour card, coloured it with Derwent Lightfast pencils and then cut it out.

Lightfast Pencils Used
Browns - Chocolate, Autumn Brown, Venetian Red, Sienna
Reds - Autumn Red, Strawberry

I then used the second largest Whimsy Stamps
to die cut a second piece of Bockingford card.

I then blended Distress Oxide Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Abandoned Coral, Tumbled Glass and Seedless preserves over the card.  I then splattered water and white paint over the inks to create some texture.

Using the largest
Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die
I die cut a piece of Pearlized Purple card and fixed the background to it with foam tape.

Then again using tape I fixed the image to the background as shown.

In Black Ink I stamped the Best Friends sentiment from the Voo Doo Clear Stamp set
onto the same card and cut each word out individually.

I fixed the sentiment to the card design as shown.

I'll be gnome for Christmas...

Happy Tuesday everyone!

It's Sue here today!

So - I had a plan (as you do) (: ...
to turn the fab
Whimsy Stamps
into Christmas Gnomes!

SUCH FUN!

(...and it just goes to show how versatile the goodies from our lovely
Dies To Die For
are and how you can easily stretch your stash)!

Hope you like this as much as I do!
I stamped this gorgeous gnomie in black ink onto white card.

I used Copic Markers to colour the background first.  I always do it that way round just in case I fluff it up!  Freehand drawing backgrounds is still new to me and I don't always get them how I like them first time round!

Copic Markers Used
Glow - Y00, Y02, Y11
Sky - B00, B07, B09, B99
Trees - C8

Gnome & Snail R05, R37, R89, W1, W3, W5, E30, E33, E37

I followed a tutorial by Sandy Allnock for the trees!

I used the following Whimsy Stamps sets to create the sentiment across the bottom of the design.

Finally I added the snowy dots with a white gel pen.
... and remember, a gnome is for life not just for Christmas! (;

I'm here today with a gorgeous new release stamp set from

I had so much fun colouring this super cute dragon!

I am practicing colouring my own backgrounds - it's a bit scary to be honest but it's learning curve and I'm determined to get better!

To make this card I stamped the
and die cut it with a Whimsy Stamps
stitched rectangle die

I first coloured the background with Copics, and then moved on to the cute dragon!  (His scales are done with the nib of a colourless blender held on its side! - Thank you to our lovely Crissy Armstrong for the inspiration) <3

Sky - BG0000, BG000, BG01, C00, C01 (Thank you Amy Young for the clouds inspiration)
Ground - E33, E31, E30, E50

Dragon - YG00, YG03, G07, G29, Y04, Y08, Y18, Y26, Colourless Blender
Jacket - R39, R35, R32

I stamped a sentiment from the
onto a torn strip of vellum and wrapped it around the bottom of the design.  (It's secured at the back with sticky tape)

I die cut a piece of gorgeous design paper from the
tied a piece if twine around it in a bow and layered the image onto the paper.
