Flowers for a friend

Happy Friday everyone, it's Kat here!

The gorgeous new Fancy Flowers stamps and dies from My Favorite Things seem to have fallen into the shopping basket of quite a few of the DT, including me!

As you can see the stamps heat emboss beautifully and the matching dies make quick work of cutting them out.

If you would like more details on how I created this project, then please do pop over to visit me at Paper Firefly.

Have a wonderful day!

Edna takes a nap

Happy Friday everyone, it's Kat here!

So far I've been sharing some pretty CAS cards with you but I decided that Edna deserved something a little fancier.

However, it ended up less fancy than I intended because every single one of the papers in this pad are so gorgeous that I couldn't bear to cover them up too much by adding a lot of embellishments!

Now, anyone for a brew?!

Have a wonderful day!

Brittany the Birthday Girl

Hello everyone! Friday has rolled around so quickly and I'm here to share a little Uptown Girl goodness today.

Recently my sister got in touch to ask me to make a card for her partner's mother who is turning 80. Now I know you are looking at this card and probably thinking....blimey, that's a bit bright for an 80 year old lady, but I think you can enjoy things a little 'out there' whatever your age, and my sister thinks she will love it.

To be honest the whole thing just screamed bright colours at me as soon as I saw the stamp, so I just had to go with it!

So this is Brittany the Birthday Girl and I coloured her with a mix of Distress Ink and Spectrum Aquatint Markers, the new(ish) Twisted Citron distress marker was perfect for the paper I chose. I've popped a list of items used with links for you at the end of my post.

That's all from me today, see you again next week! :) xx

Champagne Lucy

Happy Friday everyone! It's Linda here,  I'm back from my little holiday in Bath and here today with my latest make for Dies to Die for.

Today I'm using Champagne Lucy, from Mi Ran Jung  made by Whimsy Stamps.  I must admit that when I saw this stamp in my DT pack from Tracy I was soooo happy, I've been itching to colour up some of Mi Ran's artwork.

I teamed her with these gorgeous papers from Authentique, Elegant.  I know I've used these papers a few times now, but the Turquoise, White and Black colourway is just so striking. As usual I've inked, distressed and hand stitched my layers.

I've put the list of items used, with links where possible at the end of my post. I added plenty of glitter to her feather boa and for once you can actually see it in the photos lol!

Champagne Lucy has been coloured in Copics and you can find a list of colours used on my blog. I fussy cut her out and mounted her on some foam tape.

The inside is simply finished with a couple of sheets from the same pack.

Tress Skating

Good morning everyone, Ann-Marie popping in today to share some crafty goodness with you all.

I have made a card using the cute 'Tress Skating' by Make it Crafty and used the gorgeous Authentique papers 'Elegant' as my colour inspiration - love these!  Anyway, I decided I wanted to have a go at colouring her up in monochrome with a splash of blue to link in with the papers and love how she's turned out.

Okay, I hope I have provided you with a little crafty inspiration today.  Have a great day.

Take care.

Just Because

Hi all! Friday means that it is my turn to post on the blog!

I've taken a slightly different approach with today's card. You know you often get a plain design on the back of pretty papers? Well, other than using it to cover the base of my card blank, I don't often give these plain designs a lot of attention. However, these Authentique papers had such a pretty plain side that I decided to make them the focus of my card.

I think that the number of layers adds the detail needed to make up for the lack of pattern... what do you think?

Whilst I'm never going to abandon pretty papers entirely, I'm glad I gave the neglected reverse side a chance to shine :o)
