Polar Pals

I really love making special cards for people who I think will understand how much effort (for 'effort' read: 'blood, sweat and tears') have gone into making their creation.  Today's card is one I've made for a friend who I met at Uni, more than 20 years ago, when she was living in the UK. She's now back in her native Tokyo, but has previously sent me very intricate traditional Japanese cards, so I like to make more of an effort with a fancy fold or shape.  I've made a twist 'n' pop card which is actually easier than it looks and I was really pleased with the outcome.

Piggy Pebbles

I really like making large tags.  They are a change from making cards and are lovely to add to a gift for someone special.

I've made my own base shape from a stitched square rectangle and a stitched oval nesting die to curve the top.

To make the tag shape I popped the oval on the top of the rectangle but only placed the top plate up to the point where I want it to cut.

This only allows the pressure to cut the top curve and not the bottom half.  I do the same with the patterned paper, but use a smaller oval.

Huggy Squidgies

Today I'm sharing a card featuring a lovely image called Huggy Squidgies from Stamping Bella.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I've kept the design really clean and simple as I thought they deserved to be the centre of attention!  They were so much fun to colour and I love this image for a friend themed card, or 'just thinking of you' card.

Panda with Flowers

Hello everyone. It's Annette here today sharing a little Panda in a Springtime themed Mother's Day card.  I've stamped him in pale grey ink to give a no-lines kind of feel, and then I've watercoloured him with lots of yellow and orange flowers.

Here's a close up of my little panda...

Koala

It's Annette with you again today with my mid-week card featuring a Roberto's Rascals Koala bear from the CC Designs 'Celebrate' clear stamp set. I've had him a while but this is his first inking.  He's been watercoloured with a touch of glossy accents added on the cherry!

TGF Mini remix Brewtiful....

Sentiment- Lou computer generated!
Hi everyone!

Lou sneaking in with my make because I totally forgot to schedule it up for yesterday and just realized its not there....derrrrrrrr Lou!!!! but it's too cute to leave until next week so I'm sneaking it on today!

I am enjoying the min remix sets from TGF sooo much, they are just sized so perfectly for smaller card bases and you can really dress them up with some fun die cuts. They are just soooo cute!!!!!

I am still on major teacher appreciation mode makes so I made myself a sentiment on my computer to go with this one and then cut it out using the little flagstix die in the Blue Prints 28 set. (You can imagine the die set mess my table is in right now can't you!! he he!!!).

Thank you for popping in
hugs Lou xxx

Amber in the Arbour

Hello everyone!
Today I'm using one of my favourite Saturated Canary Stamps from  LDRS Creative.
This beautiful girl is Amber, from the Sweet N Sassy range. Doesn't she just have the sweetest expression?

I coloured her with my distress ink markers to match these pretty Maja Design papers from the Coffee in the Arbor collection, and gave her light golden brown hair.

I fussy cut the image and added back some of the butterflies I lost with this memory box die.

and just to prove that even us DT girls aint perfect, I've just noticed that one of the large pearl embellishments I used had slipped while drying and is now wonky! Ooops. Oh well, we'll say it adds to the charm and leave it at that ;)
That's all from me today, have a wonderful weekend :) xx

Strawberry Dreamer, (with added raspberries).

Happy Friday everyone!
Linda here with an Elisabeth Bell stamp today. This is one of her older images from the Cottage Cuties collection.

This is called Strawberry Dreamer, isn't she lovely?
I didn't have any paper with strawberries on, so I pulled this Maja Design paper out of my stash that had raspberries on, close enough right? :P

Anyway, I love the way this turned out and hope you will too.
Products are linked at the end of my post.

That cute strawberry charm goes really well with this stamp I thought!

That's all folks, see you next time!

My Fair Lady

Happy Friday everyone! I am still on my hols so this was a super quick make from me before I left, in between sorting all my packing lol!

Because of the lack of time this is rather a minimalist card from me today, I won't go so far as to say CAS, but it's hovering on the edges of ;)

It was very quick and easy to make though and took a minimum of materials, so perfect to whip something up at the last minute or if you have a bunch of cards to make.

I used the following items on this card:

I edged all my die cut papers with Walnut Stain DI, the tiny butterflies come as part of the Make a Card #3 set and I used 1 piece of the Scrapberry's Curls cut into 2. These come with 2 full pieces in the set for £1, so this card only cost me 50p to decorate with this lovely bling, how cheap is that?!

I hope you like my super quick make today, see you again after my hols! :) xx

Wendy's Birthday Cakes - On Sale!

Morning all and happy Friday to you. Linda here.  Lot's of early starts at work for me this week, so I'm looking forward to a Saturday lay in, though not for too long as I have lots of cards to make.

Today's make is made with the super cute Wendy's Birthday Cake from LDRS.
She's on sale in the shop, so if you're quick you can snap up a bargain!

I've coloured her with my copics and paper pieced her little dress.
The beautiful papers are Coffee in the Arbour from Maja Design.  I've put a list of products with links at the end of my post.
