Ruby Wedding

Hello and happy Friday! Linda here today with my regular Friday slice of inspiration.
Recently I was asked by a friend of a friend if I would make a card for a Ruby Wedding anniversary.

The brief I received was 'accents of ruby' (standard) and 'something simple'.....umm.....simple? I asked my friend if this person was familiar with my work and was told yes.....well that left me scratching my head a bit I can tell you lol!

Simple my work is not, so I must admit that for  a long while Mr Mojo went on an extended vacation whenever I thought about working on this card.  In the end my  card is not really 'simple' but I guess for me it has an air of simplicity about it.

I used the following products on my card

You Make My Heart Melt.......

I have gone uber clean and simple today!
This is one of the stamps from the super cute Paper Smooches Warm Hearts set...this card was inspired by the talented Michelle Short and her super cute CAS style!
Have a great day!

Oh Hoppy Days!

Hi Everyone, it's Faye here :)

The other day I had a few minutes to spare and I was mooching around the Dies to Die For Store, when I came across Broasca the Frog. I was particularly pleased to see him in amongst some of the other gorgeous Little Miss Muffet Stamps line, as he's one of my faves! What's not to love about a cute frog?

So, as is my custom, I thought I'd plonk him on a rather Clean and Simple Card. But, see, I have a bit of a thing about die cut frames at the moment, you'll probably notice it in the coming weeks! Today, I took a rather cheeky liberty with the By DIEzyne Double Circle Dies, so I could sit Broasca behind. And then I popped on one of the gorgeous sentiments from the Avery Elle Oh Happy Day Sentiment Stamps.

I love it when a plan comes together!

Thanks so much for stopping by... Have a hoppy day! Sorry, I do love a pun...

Say Cheese!

Warning! Photo heavy post.
Happy Friday! Linda here and I have another mini album to share today. This one uses the fantastic paper pad from Simple Stories 'Say Cheese'. I love, love, love this paper collection. I had such a lot of fun making this mini and I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

I kept the design on the front fairly simple to showcase the fab papers, just decorating with some chipboard letters, brads and fishtail banners and some stitched frames from the CC Designs Make a Card set #4.

The only thing I hate about mini albums is trying to photograph them, it's sooooo hard, and no way to show all the photo mats and interactive stuff. SO ....if you want to see more, drop by my blog tomorrow because I'll be sharing a video of this album, which really is the best way to view these.

I used the following items from Dies to Die for

(Ignore the picture of the stamps, this is the link to the 6 x 6 paper pad I used in this mini album)
(to edge my layers)

Well that's all from me today, don't forget to check by my blog for a video of this project tomorrow afternoon, and I'll be back again next Friday. Happy crafting! :) xx

Herd You Had a Birthday!!

Papers- Teresa collins She Said.
White wool felt.

Hi everyone!
I'm a bit late popping in today but I so wanted to share my DTDF inspiration post. Its another of the makes I did for the Die Cutting Essentials 4 magazine.

Our brief was ladies birthday cards using the new Die Namics Build able blooms stamps and Die Namics Build able blooms die set. And we had a gorgeous summery colour palette to follow too. I used my flower dies nd stamps to make some clouds and a sunshine to show how versatile the sets are!it was so much fun to put together and of course, the felt cut like butter for the little textured clouds.

I used one of my favourite stamp sets to go with my card this time, The Whole Herd stamp set. Its just so sweet and I adore the sentiments! they are just perfect!

Thank you for popping in, Hugs Lou xx

Uptown Girls Audrey Loves Her Make-Up

Morning everyone! It's Friday again yay! Today I'm sharing a card I was asked to make by a friend at work for her Mum.  The brief I had to work from was that she liked Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn, that she loved fashion and that her favourite colours were black orange and green.

I must admit that I skipped the green as trying to put those 3 colours together really wasn't working for me on a card.

Anyway I chose the fabulous Uptown Girls Audrey Loves Her Make-Up from Stampin' Bella, perfect to fit the Audrey Hepburn part I thought. I actually used Halloween papers (just to show they're versatile lol) for the black and orange as they were the only papers I had with that colour combo, and I can't find them in the store now, but you could use something like Thrilling to a similar effect, I just avoided the more Halloween prints with bats and spiders.

I used the fab big stitched and pierced rectangles, these are great for helping to make a layout in a hurry with no fuss and i mounted her on some dies from the Make a Card #4 set.

My friend loved it and I must admit that after struggling a bit with it I really love the way it turned out.

La-La Land Dress Form
(I couldn't find the link to this in the store anymore, but I'm sure Tracy would get in in for you if you asked)

That's all from me today, see you again next week! :) xx

Hi Everyone, it's Faye here, and yes, today, it'll be me with a stack of cupcakes :)

Today is my Niece's Birthday, no prizes for guessing her name! I thought Jessica with Cupcakes would be perfect for her, Evie, like me, has a love of cake. And you know me, once I get involved with one favourite thing, I like to play with some of my other faves too. Can you spot 'em?! Before I scoot off and do the appropriate number of abdominal crunches to allow me the quantity of cake I am going to consume today, let me just tell you, Jessica comes with a coordinating Die too, perfect for all you Fussy Cutting Phobics out there!

I've used a Joycraft die behind her, and my embossing mat has also gone walkabout too, so I had to forgo the embossing this time.

Yo Yo Dapper Dan...

Stamp- Dapper Dan.
Morning all!!

The summer holidays is coming up soon ( oh boy , I am so on countdown! can't wait to get my hands on some mamma and me time with the squidger!!) and every year Scott and I get together some little bits to put in the mail for Mo for surprises! ( the postman is still kinda exciting to him and in the holidays its all mamma and daddy mail....yeah..its mostly icky bills but to him we still get mail and he doesn't!!) so this is my first Mo Mail make for this holiday!!

He absolutely loves yo yo's! we have tonnes in our house but each new one is exciting and I wanted to make him a special one as I had picked up a couple of plain wooden yo yo's on my travels to keep in reserve!!

Now..for the confession...this is actually Mo's stamp!! lol!! when he saw it he decided it looked just like him so he NEEDED it (...proud mamma moment, I have taught my prodigy well bwah ha ha ha ha!!!) I cut 2 little circles of letraset paper out and stamped just Dapper Dan's head on them. I coloured them both up the same and glued them onto the yo yo then gave it a good old spray with some spray varnish ( I wrapped the string round and covered the centre strip with masking tape before spraying away).

I can't wait to pop it in a little box and get it in the mail for him! roll on holidays!! 2 weeks to go and counting!!

Right, time for a cuppa and a good old womble in blog land!!

Huge hugs for you all Lou xx

TaDa...we have a joint effort from myself and Jude, my 11 year old......I did the background while she coloured up the tiny Super Hero....I think she has done a fab job!

Vintage Wedding Album

Morning everyone, it's Linda here coming at you on a Sunday as the heat just wiped me out earlier in the week and so I wasn't quite ready to post this on Friday. Luckily for me I have wonderful teamies, and the super fabulous Faye (have you been following her work? It's amazing, I'm just a fan boy lol), stepped in for me and swapped days, isn't that sweet of her?

Anyhoo, on to my make and as you know I've recently been dabbling in some mini albums.......but now I've moved up into the next leave and so today I'm posting my first 'proper' mini album. (Well if I'm honest it it's actually the 3rd, but it's the 1st one I've shared)

I don't know about you but for me at this time of year it's all about Weddings. I've been asked to make several wedding cards and recently a work friend asked me to make a wedding album for her daughter to take as a gift for a wedding she was attending in Ireland. The bride likes vintage.

Immediately I thought of the Vintage Wedding collection by Pion Design, it fits the Vintage and Wedding theme and it has all these great cut aparts and tags etc. I used a mixture of 6 x 6 and 12 x 12 papers.

This is what I made.

I edged all of my layers (but not the pages themselves) with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I hope I'm not blowing my own trumpet when I say that the pictures do not do it justice, it's so difficult to photograph these well,  and I have also made a video which you can find the link to on my blog, but it really does look lovely in real life and I'm rather chuffed with it.

The link to the tutorial I used is also on my  blog if you wish to have a go at making one of these for yourself.

Other Items

I had an immense amount of fun making this and my work friend loves it, so I hope the bride and groom do too!

That's all from me today but I'll be back again next week in my regular Friday spot.

Happy crafting! :) xx

Vixie

Hi Everyone, it's Faye here, on this rather gorgeous Friday:)

I'm afraid I have a soft spot for fairies, they appeal to some part of my airy, fluffy, free spirited side. And of course I'm always on the look out for them at the bottom of the garden! So, it's only natural that Vixie here, is a well loved and well used part of my 'Craft Collection'.

I've not made a Shaker Card before, they seem to be popular at the moment, so, Vixie, these scrummy Simple Life A Charmed Life Papers  and some Circle Dies were the perfect partners for what I had in mind. Simples!

Nevaeh & My Precious Daughter

Morning all, Linda here, yes yes, I know it's Wednesday, but I missed posting this on Friday, so I'm popping it on now.
I decided to make another easel card (I don't make this very often, but I do love them), using the gorgeous Nevaeh by Krista Smith (one of the first stamps I ever bought). She's on sale in the shop at the moment so snap up a bargain before she's out of stock!
I paired her with these lush papers from Pion.  I wanted to showcase the wonderful contrast of the purple and pink, so I coloured her outfit to match.

This is the card shown closed.
Colours used

Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet
Outfit: Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet, Seedless Preserves

This is the opened card, I kept the inside pretty simple so as not to distract from the front.
