Christmas Kids

Well Howdy to Y'All

How are you?  I hope you had a good weekend.

Today I would like to share with you a card I have made using one of the stamps from Moreheads Christmas Kids - Surprise Collection and what a little cutie he is too. There are absolutely stacks of stamps in this collection so make sure you check it out.

Here is the full card:

I've tried to keep the card along the 'vintagey' theme with traditional Christmas colours which I just love.  All the items I have used can be found at Dies to Die For and the recipe for the card is as follows:

Stamp:  Moreheads - Christmas Kids - Surprise
Paper:  Echo Park - This & That Christmas (its not showing in the store at the moment but contact Tracy and I'm sure she will get it for you)
Kraft Card:  Bazzill Kraft
Holly Die:  Cheery Lynn - Holly Corner
Banner:  Die-Namics - Fishtail Banner

The image has been coloured with Copics:

Skin:  E21 E00 E000 E0000 / R20 R30 (cheeks)
Hat:  R39 R29 R27 R24 R22 / G29 G46 G24 (holly) / YR24 YR23 YR21 YR20 (bell)
Top:  E43 E42 E41 E40
Sock:  R39 R29 R27 R24 R22 / E43 E42 E41 E40
Shading:  W5 W3 W1 W0

To outline the image and edge the papers I have used Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink

To add some dimension to the card I made a frame out of Kraft card and stitched around it with my sewing machine before adding some foam pads to the back to adhere it to the main card.  Here is a picture so you can see the depth that this adds to the card:

And there you have it.  I hope you like it.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and have a look.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Take care.

It’s Christmas for this month’s Dies to Die For challenge and I have gone for something a little different.  I so need to make lots of quick cards for Christmas and this is one of those.

bev-rochester-d2d4-xmas-challenge

The sentiment stamp is from the Whimsy Stamps fabulous Tis the Season Notables 5.  The paper is Bildmalarna Blue Christmas and Mr Snowman.  The 1/2” natural lace was stapled in place and finished off with a bow.

Merry and Bright

Morning all! Well, it is the middle of November and I have finally gone and done it... I've made my first Christmas card! Unfortunately for me, Christmas cards are way down my list of favourite cards to make, so I find this time of year a bit of a chore. Not on this card though - I love it! Not only did it just fall together with ease, I love the final look. Merry and bright indeed :)

As soon as I saw the lovely baubles that come with this super cute Some Odd Girl stamp, I just knew that I wanted to glaze them up to make them a) a bit more realistic and b) a bit more blingy. I normally get in a right mess with Glossy Accents but I've finally learned my lesson.... LEAVE IT ALONE UNTIL IT IS DRY! Simple as long as you stick to the rules really ;o)

Hope you like this little card and that you are slightly further along with your Christmas card making than I am!

Ice Cream & Pickles

Hi all, here is a card I have made for my cousin who has just announced she is expecting her first baby. I have used the fab Saturated Canary image 'Ice Cream & Pickles'. I have stamped the image, coloured with Copic Markers and then cut out using the MFT Die-Namics Circle Stax 2 set (the largest in the set) and then cut a mat from Bazzill Kraft card using the Circle Stax 1 set (the largest die again). I have then cut the edge off and added to a card base made from more Bazzill card. I have then wrapped around with Divine Twine and tied in a bow at the front. Bazzill rhinestones added to finish.

Thanks for visiting the Die to Die for blog today. We have a new challenge on the 18th so be sure to look out for that! Have a lovely day!

TGF Fairy princess christmas ....

Die-namics Fishtail flags layers die.
skin- blush,sunkissed pink and coral.
reds- berry red, crimson and burgundy
greens- leaf green, grass and forest green
yellows- pastel yellow,sunflower and gold.

Morning Peeps!

Its Lou here with a little monday morning make for you all!!!

Now I know mushrooms are out of season at christmas but awwwww these ones were so cute in the TGF Fairy Princess set that I just couldn't resist using them too!!! Once I had stamped and coloured up my little fairy I just had to make her a snowflake scene to fly in. I distressed around the edges with Tea Dye distress ink to finish it off, I love an inky edge!!

The little snowflakes are from the memory box crystalline border die and I love them. I pushed them down into my foam mat with my ball embosser to pop them up a bit and then dotted them around my stamped mat, adding a little touch of stickley magic to the centres!!!

Thank you so much for popping in on my chrimbly fairy

Bliss

Hello DTDF Friends,

Hope you are all well and getting stuck in to your Christmas cards! I'm back after a little time off with a non-Christmassy card that I have made using some of my favourite new goodies. You can't beat an Echo Park and Some Odd Girl combo, right?!

The great thing about this image is the depth that you can get into all those folds of fabric. I cheated slightly on some of the finer details and coloured the edges of the little areas with fine liner pens. It's a really good trick to remember if you are a bit heavy handed with your markers like I am!

All of the goodies used on this card can be found in the DTDF shop, so have a quick click on the links below to be taken directly to each item.

Trimming the tree!

Morning Peeps!
Its Lou here with a bit of a christmassy make to show you all. I just can't resist a Saturated Canary so I inked one of the gorgeous stamps up and got out some of my favourite christmas papers yesterday and had a good old play!!!

So this little cutie is my DT make for you all to peeky today. I had some colouring time in the afternoon while Mo and Daddy played on the PS3 and yummy makey time last night once an exhausted Mo had fallen asleep and it was bliss!! I also seem to of has a complete die cutting fest with all the different dies on it too!!!

There is.......

The stamp is Saturated Canary Trimming the Tree. She was just so lovely to stamp and colour and I love those layers in her dress.

The papers and the little cookie hearts are all from the First Edition Festive Treats 6x6 paper pad, its yummy with lots of double sided and glittery papers in. I foam dotted the hearts onto some MME merry and bright twine (...sob sob...its almost my last little bit of this gorgeous twine!!) and of course a little bit of Stickles Star Dust bling to finish off the baubles, star and skirt on the tree.

Hugs Lou xx

Cuddly Owlies

Here is a card I have made using the Stamping Bella Cuddly Owlies stamp which I think is so cute! I have stamped the image in Memento Rich Cocoa ink on to Bazzill Kraft CS and coloured with pencils. I have then cut the image out using a MFT Die-Namics Circle Stax die and added to the Bazzill Kraft card base. The sentiment is an old Stamping Bella one which has been cut out using an MFT Die-Namics Sentiment Strip. To finish I have wrapped the card base with Divine Twine in Brown Sugar.
